About Us

Our History

Roof Profiles was founded in 1982 to offer faster turnaround times, higher quality finishes and more prefab roof parts than the market leaders.

By carrying out more work in the factory that is normally done on site by joiners, usually at height in dangerous conditions, like cutting skew clips, Roof Profiles became a favoured supplier to the West of Scotland’s house building industry.

After four years the team moved to bigger premises to accommodate the growing business, and five years after that they expanded again, taking on a large building yard for their now substantial ‘supply and erect’ business. In June 1999, Roof Profiles moved to a new factory and purpose built offices covering a total area of 102,400 sq.ft.

With contracts from some of the biggest developers in the UK, including Barratt Homes, Charles & Church, and Persimmon homes, the company withstood two recessions – largely because of innovative techniques and designs.

Always one step ahead, Roof Profiles invested in new equipment like cranes to allow their teams to install trusses on delivery, reducing haulage and crainage costs for our customers, and improving health and safety conditions for all on site.

With the launch of our patented ‘Edge Protection Safety System’ Roof Profiles has pushed the boundaries of traditional building, developing methods that are faster, safer, more flexible and more cost effective.

Roof Profiles is committed to reducing energy consumption; limiting our impact on the environment; and creating homes which are energy efficient.

Almost every timber product we use is FSC® certified, meaning it comes from sustainable sources. By using certified timber in our manufacturing, we help to safeguard the world’s timber resources.

As well as choosing the most environmentally respectful products in our factories, we work hard to recycle wherever possible and reduce our waste. Wherever possible off-cuts are made into smaller truss sections and the remaining untreated timber waste is recycled. At Roof Profiles, we are continuously looking for new ways to increase our positive impact on the environment.

Our manufacturing techniques mean that more cutting is done in advance at our factory. This means that erection is faster, and less wasteful, removing the headache of excess debris removal during the build.
